How the endowment began
The partnership dates to 2021, when the CASF Foundation made a $60,000 gift to establish a permanent scholarship endowment at Everglades University’s School of Construction Management. The CASF Foundation funded the original gift entirely through member donations made during membership renewals and at CASF events. Scholarships go to junior and senior students who submit an essay describing their plans to pursue a construction career in South Florida. At the time, CASF described the endowment as a way to help grow South Florida’s construction workforce. It also noted it was exploring mentorship, internship, and outreach opportunities with EU. The same industry association that funds scholarships for EU students is now bringing its member companies to meet them.“We aspire to educate and train the future leaders of South Florida’s construction industry, as well as to support the needs of the industry.”
