3 Scholarships Every Prospective Student Should Know About
Paying for college isn’t easy. That’s why it’s important that every student and potential student knows their options for tuition assistance. At Everglades University, we have a full-time Financial Services Department at each of our campuses to help students understand what, and how, they will pay for their courses. In addition, we are approved to participate in the Florida State Grant and Scholarship program, and encourage students to apply to as many scholarships as they feel they qualify for. Here are just a few worth mentioning.
This scholarship is reserved for the children of Marines and Navy Corpsmen. If your parent was in the Marines or the Navy, you can apply for this scholarship so long as your parent is currently active duty or reserve U.S. Marine, a veteran U.S. Marine who was honorably discharged or died while serving, or a veteran U.S. Navy Corpsman who served and received an honorable discharge or died while serving as a Corpsman attached to a Marine unit. You must also have a GPA of at least 2.0 on a 4.0 scale and a family adjusted gross income that does not exceed $98,000 (as of 2017).
The Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation created this scholarship to help high-achieving students reach their goals for college and beyond. This award is reserved only for graduating high school seniors who have made an impact not only on their school, but also on their community. This scholarship will reopen on August 1 for graduating seniors to apply.
If you are interested in a degree relating to science, technology, engineering, or math (STEM), this is the scholarship program for you. Microsoft offers scholarships to high-achieving students who are enrolled full-time at a four-year college and pursuing a degree in the STEM category. You must also maintain a 3.0 cumulative grade point average and once accepted, Microsoft will pay for tuition only with a one-time payment through your school covering partial tuition for one academic year.
