Everglades University is known for our commitment to helping veterans. Many of our programs are designed to ensure that veterans and active duty military are able to receive their degree. These programs include everything from providing smaller class sizes for more personalized attention to assisting with VA benefits and participating in the Yellow Ribbon Program.
Throughout our history, we have helped many veterans graduate and succeed in their chosen career following military service. As we enter the new year, we are focusing on a few of our past programs and events to thank and support our local veterans.

EU Sarasota Director of Student Services, Kerry Conboy, visited the Goodwill Manasota Veterans Services Center to promote the Everglades University programs and let them know that Everglades University is a Yellow Ribbon University and a veteran friendly university. Chris Landis, Team Leader for Veteran Services, explained that a lot of Veteran’s want to get their education but just do not know where to begin the process. “I am thrilled to know that the veterans that I work with everyday have a great university in their own backyard where they can get their education with other veterans,” he says.

Everglades University Sarasota Campus Suits for Vets Community Service Event
The EU Sarasota Campus is proud and honored to partner with the Goodwill Manasota Veterans Task Force to support our Military community. EU Sarasota collected over 50 suits for the Goodwill Manasota Suits 4 Vets program for the month of October. Some of our students even donated some accessories to go with some of the suits for the women veterans. Todd Hughes, Director of Veteran Services for Goodwill Manasota said “This is more than we expected and will help our veterans be dressed for success once they get a job interview as many of our veterans do not own suits.”
Goodwill Manasota has created a Veterans Task Force. The mission is to provide a leadership role in addressing strategic issues and providing community-supported solutions facing veterans and their families on employment and transitioning into civilian life. The Veterans Task Force sent a survey to numerous organizations that focus on veteran’s issues, as well as individual veterans and asked them to provide input as to the main issue facing veterans from their perspectives.
